Day 6 - Arrival in Tokyo, a city of 35 Million inhabitants

I arrived around 18:00 o'clock at Ueno station Tokyo; dropped off my backpack at the hostel where I had made my reservation and decided to go out for the night. Being in a Metropolis for the first time, that is so distant and different from anything that I've ever come across, I felt a little hesitant stepping on the metro alone. The subway map showed a confusing entanglement of 13 lines, but to my suprise it was remarkably easy to find my way to the Yurikamome line. That, and a Japanese older woman started a friendly conversation. Watching from the window, far elevated above the iluminated streets of Tokyo gave me such an overwhelming feeling of adventure and exploring. This must be the essence of traveling and an unforgettable moment for me. The train arrived at Odaiba. A man made island with lots of shopping- entertainment halls. At Aquacity mall I had a Sushi meal at the Sushi train restaurant.

A funny experience was to play some games in game halls, with an overload of loud tunes and flashing lights. A place with Arcade games, Karaoke, Bowling, Maid cafes and the latest 3D-glasses shooting games. Further down there were funny shops, like the pet store with dog cookies in the cutest pie-shapes and animal-dresses costing up to hundreds of Euros.

I went outside for some relaxation and took photos of the Rainbow bridge. I had a good view from the wooden deck, in front some sandy beach and the water. A perfect place for dating couples to watch over the water at the Rainbow bridge. Just enjoying each other in quietness after what must have been an hilarious date at the Shoppingmall.
